What’s a conspiracy theory you actually find believable?

If I were asked which conspiracy theory feels somewhat believable to me, I wouldn’t name any secret institution or underground organization. Instead, I would talk about those societal norms we have been watching and hearing since childhood—things we have completely stopped questioning because they are so old that we assume we must just accept them as part of life.
However, it is not always true that everything we saw or heard growing up remains right. Some traditions can hold us back; what made sense in the past may no longer fit our lives today.
Coming from a village, I have seen how neither girls nor boys were given the freedom to choose their paths without hesitation. They were only allowed a few predetermined routes to success. Society dictated how long a boy should study and what he must do next. And as for girls, even today, they rarely have the freedom to choose a goal outside of pre-approved boundaries. They are still handed a limited set of tracks they are expected to follow.
Perhaps the most believable “conspiracy” to me is how certain societal notions have become so deeply normalized that we forgot how to question them. Respecting tradition matters, but it is even more important to understand which traditions help us grow and which ones hold us back.
After all, is our life truly our own if the path has already been chosen for us?
